Is Joel McHale In Stargirl?

Stargirl is a superhero television show that was created by Geoff Johns and that premiered on the DC Universe streaming service. Since airing, Stargirl was officially renewed for season 2 when it was about 7 episodes into its first season. 

Stargirl season 2 will air most likely in the summer of 2021 and will be available on The CW network and HBO Max for viewing since DC Universe streaming service is going to be officially shut down. 

Joel McHale is indeed in the Stargirl television show and plays Sylvesotr Pemberton, better known as Starman. 

Who is Joel McHale?

Joel McHale is best known for his roles as an actor, writer, and comedian. Some of his most popular shows include hosting The Soup from 2004 until 2015, as well as his role as Jeff Winger on the comedy sitcom Community from 2009 to 2015. 

Aside from his many television appearances, Joel has been in several movies including Spy Kids: All the Time in the World in 2011 and Ted in 2012.

Joel was born in Rome in 1971. His mother is Canadian and his father is from Chicago. McHale received a bachelor’s degree in history from the University of Washington in 1995. He was initially slated to be on the college rowing team, but instead joined the Washington Huskies, football team. 

After earning his college degree, McHale moved to Los Angeles and landed small roles in Will & Grace, CSI: Miami, and Diagnosis: Murder. McHale was a weekly guest on the Adam Carolla Show due to his longstanding association with the Circle X Theater.

Joel has a long history of hosting certain shows such as the 2014 White House Correspondents Associations annual dinner. He also hosted the 2015 ESPY awards as well as the 43rd People’s Choice Awards in 2017. 

When he isn’t saving the world in Stargirl, McHale currently co-hosts The Darkest Timeline podcast with fellow Community cast member Ken Jeong. The podcast was created in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Joel also hosted an after-show tell-all for the wildly popular Tiger King series on Netflix.

Mchale is married to Sarah Williams and they have two sons. Mchale also revealed to Dax Shepard during his podcast that he is dyslexic, having discovered this when his two sons were also diagnosed. McHale also has an affinity and interest for wristwatches.
